License Policy

This License Policy explains what you may and may not do with the GoLiveKit boilerplate.

This agreement is between GoLiveKit, represented by Ihor Zymnitskyi at [email protected] ("GoLiveKit," "we," "our," or "us"), and the person or business using the product ("you" or "Licensee"). By downloading, accessing, or using the GoLiveKit boilerplate (the "Product"), you agree to this License Policy.

1. License Grant

Subject to this License Policy, GoLiveKit grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to use the Product to:

  • create unlimited personal or commercial projects;
  • build, modify, and deploy websites, applications, and internal tools; and
  • use the Product as part of work performed for your own business or for clients.

This license gives you a right to use the Product. It does not transfer ownership of the Product or any intellectual property rights in it.

2. Restrictions

Unless we give prior written permission, you may not:

  • resell, redistribute, publish, or share the Product as a standalone product or competing boilerplate;
  • sublicense, rent, lease, assign, or transfer the Product or your rights under this License Policy;
  • remove, alter, or hide any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice included with the Product; or
  • use the Product in a way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of any third party.

3. Ownership

The Product is licensed, not sold. GoLiveKit and its licensors, where applicable, retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Product, including all copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and other intellectual property rights.

4. No Warranty

The Product is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the maximum extent permitted by law. GoLiveKit does not make any express or implied warranties, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Product will meet your requirements, be error-free, or operate without interruption.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoLiveKit and Ihor Zymnitskyi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the Product or your use of it.

If GoLiveKit is found liable for any claim arising out of or related to the Product, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable license.
